Famitsu Sales: 3/22/21 – 3/28/21 [Update]
A massive sales week for Switch and Monster Hunter Rise.Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the week of March 22, 2021 to March 28, 2021.
Monster Hunter Rise for Switch was the highest selling new release of the week, opening at 1,302,132 units sold. In comparison, Monster Hunter: World sold 1,350,412 retail copies on PlayStation 4 in its first three days of release in Japan.
On the hardware side, the Switch family sold a massive 267,497 units thanks to the release of Monster Hunter Rise, the PlayStation 5 family sold 62,295 units, the PlayStation 4 family sold 2,189 units, and the Xbox Series family sold 1,279 units. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles continue to face stock issues.
