Borderlands 2 ‘Captain Scarlett’ DLC details leaked

New areas, items, weapons, bosses, and more.

Details on upcoming Borderlands 2 download content ‘Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty’ have been discovered via an update for the game’s ‘Mechromancer’ DLC that went live yesterday.

The download content adds the following maps/areas:

  • Hayter’s Folly
  • Oasis
  • Washburne Refinery
  • Wurmwater
  • The Rustyards
  • Manys Lighthouse
  • The Leviathan’s Lair

A new rarity level, items, weapons, bosses, raids, and more have been detailed at developer Gearbox Software’s forums. There, you’ll also find a full script for the download content’s plot (spoilers).

New PlayStation Network trophies also mention the DLC:

Treasure Hunter
Completed the mission “X Marks the Spot”

Gladabout
Discovered all named locations in Oasis and the surrounding Pirate’s Booty areas.

Completionist
Completed all Pirate’s Booty side missions.

Gearbox has said it plans on rolling out four major expansions for Borderlands 2 between its September 2012 and June 2013. ‘Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty’ could very well be the first.
