The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered announced for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC; expansion ‘Songs of the Past’ teaser trailer
Free upgrade due out on September 29.
CD Projekt RED and Yigsoft have announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Battle.net). It will launch on September 29. Users who already own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, or PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG) will receive a free upgrade to the Remastered version, which includes both the “Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine” expansions.
Additionally, CD Projekt RED and Fool’s Theory released the teaser trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt expansion “Songs of the Past,” which is due out in 2027.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered brings a slew of upgrades and enhancements to visuals, performance, gameplay, and more. Players can experience the entire epic adventure with upgraded visuals, enhanced combat, improved traversal and movement, new witcher signs effects, revamped mount handling, enhanced monster behaviors, a skill tree revamp, transmogrification, expanded photo mode, new finishers, and much more.
“Songs of the Past”
A teaser for Songs of the Past was also shared at Gamescom Opening Night Live and revealed the brand new region of Letten. This idyllic land is rich in rural tradition and folklore, and its people enjoy a fulfilling life of bountiful harvests and lavish festivals. But a dark secret lurks just beneath the surface, and Geralt must overcome never-before-seen foes as he fights to overcome its long-dormant evil.
CD Projekt RED is hosting guided presentations of “Songs of the Past” and the Remastered upgrade throughout Gamescom in Hall 8.1 of the entertainment area. For those not attending, special REDstreams presentations will take place throughout the event and be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. Each will dive into specific areas of “Songs of the Past” and Remastered.
Existing Expansions are Now Free
As an additional surprise for players, all current owners of The Witcher 3 will today gain access to its original two expansions—“Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine”—for free. Announced on stage by Gamescom Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley, players yet to experience the critically acclaimed expansions can now do so ahead of Remastered‘s launch in September.
Blizzard Entertainment Collaboration
CD Projekt RED is also delighted to announce a partnership with Blizzard Entertainment to bring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and “Songs of the Past” to Battle.net. Those who purchase the expansion on Blizzard’s platform will unlock a special Geralt-inspired skin in Diablo IV, with further details being shared when CD PROJEKT RED attends BlizzCon in September.
