13Z: The Zodiac Trials coming to PS5, Switch 2 on January 14, 2027

Roguelike action game dated.

Publisher Clouded Leopard Entertainment and developer Mixed Realms will release roguelike action game 13Z: The Zodiac Trials will launch for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 on January 14, 2027, the companies announced.

The PC (Steam) version, which will be self-published by Mixed Realms, has currently only been announced for a Q1 2027 release. It is currently unclear whether it plans to release alongside or before the console versions.

The PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 versions will support both English and Japanese voice-overs, in addition to English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subtitle options.

13Z: The Zodiac Trials is a fast-paced 3D action roguelike where you take control of warriors imbued with animal spirits, battle enemies, master devastating combos, and grow stronger with every run. Play solo or team up in co-op with up to four players.

The Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 versions published by Clouded Leopard Entertainment will feature both Japanese and English character voices, allowing players to experience the grueling Trials on the path to claiming the thirteenth Zodiac seat—and the story that unfolds along the way—with even greater immersion and accessibility.

Story
Long ago, the gods of the Zodiac watched over the people of the Eastern Lands. But as the ancient traditions began to fade, so too did the people’s faith in the Zodiac gods—and with it, the gods’ divine power. With the balance of the world beginning to crumble, they are left with no choice but to hold the Zodiac Trials once more. There is no other way. They must find one worthy of becoming the thirteenth Zodiac god.
Fox, Raven, and Panda—warriors imbued with animal spirits—each enter the Trials for their own reasons. Wielding their unique abilities and growing stronger along the way, they take on the Zodiac Trials, where formidable enemies await. Will they overcome these grueling Trials and earn their place among the chosen Zodiac?

Characters
The Swordsaint (Fox) – A gifted swordswoman determined to prove there is more than one path to greatness. Born into a prestigious lineage of female swordsmen, the Fox Spirit refuses to be bound by tradition and instead pursues strength on her own terms. Bright, energetic, and endlessly curious, she has continually sought out unknown foes and challenging missions. When she learns that the legendary Zodiac Trials have returned, she throws herself into the greatest challenge of her life, seeking to discover her true potential—and the answer to a question she has carried with her since childhood.
The Death’s Herald (Raven) – A raven spirit fated to walk alongside the dead, yet forever searching for a path toward the light. After incurring the wrath of the Reaper for interfering with the souls of the deceased, the Raven Spirit was cursed with the duty of guiding the dead to the underworld. Long years spent in the realm of death have left him cold and solitary, yet deep within he still longs for a place where he can live beneath the light. For the Raven Spirit, the return of the Zodiac Trials represents his only hope of leaving the world of death behind and beginning a new life.
The Iron Wreath’d (Panda) – A mighty martial artist who sets out on a journey to uncover the mystery threatening his homeland. The Panda Spirit was raised in a peaceful land in the human realm. Possessing both unrivaled strength and a tremendous appetite, he is nevertheless gentle at heart and unable to turn his back on anyone in need. When animals begin disappearing and enemies mysteriously appear throughout his once-peaceful homeland, Panda enters the Zodiac Trials to uncover the cause and restore peace to the valley.

Go Solo or Fight Together? – Solo Mode: Face the Zodiac Trials alone and hone your combat skills to perfection.
