Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a pricing increase for PlayStation 5 consoles in the United States, effective August 21. The move is in response to “a challenging economic environment.”
The new recommended retail pricings are as follows:
- PlayStation 5 – $549.99 (previously $499.99)
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99 (previously $449.99)
- PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99 (previously $699.99)
The recommended retail prices for PlayStation 5 accessories remain unchanged.
The price increase in the United States follows similar increases in Japan and Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
