Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a 13,000 yen price increase for PlayStation 5 in Japan, as well as price increases for various PlayStation 5 accessories. All increases will take effect on September 2.
The company cited the severe external environment, including changes in the global economic market and their impact on its business, as the reason for these price hikes.
The key price changes are as follows:
- PlayStation 5: ¥66,980 → ¥79,980
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition: ¥59,980 → ¥72,980
- DualSense Wireless Controller: ¥9,480 → ¥11,480
- PlayStation VR2: ¥74,980 → ¥89,980
