Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent western version service operations to transfer to NetEase Games on January 16, 2025
Square Enix will no longer handle service operations outside of Japan.Service operations for the western version of free-to-play Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will transfer from Square Enix to NetEase Games starting January 16, 2025, the companies announced.
Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent first launched for iOS and Android on October 28, 2020 in Japan, followed by July 27, 2022 in North America and Europe, November 29, 2022 in China, and December 7, 2023 in Southeast Asia. NetEase Games already manages operations for the game in Southeast Asia and China.

First, we’d like to thank all the players of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
As of Thursday, January 16, 2025, service operations for Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will be transferred to NetEase Interactive Entertainment.
With the 2.5-year anniversary approaching in January 2025, we decided that the best way to continue to provide quality content for everyone was to work in collaboration with NetEase.
As for additional main story content and such for which we’ve received many requests everything is planned for release after operations have been transferred to NetEase.
Players will of course be able to transfer their game data and continue their adventures. Please see the in-game notices for more information regarding the data transfer process.
