Atelier series 25th anniversary website launched
First 25th anniversary project to be announced on October 2.
Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Gust have launched the Atelier series 25th anniversary website in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
The first entry in the series, Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg, launched for PlayStation on May 23, 1997 in Japan.
“In May 2022, the Atelier series will mark its 25th anniversary,” the website reads. “Thank you very much to everyone who has supported this series throughout the years. As a gift to you for all your love and support, we are planning various Atelier-related projects throughout 2022, including the soon-to-be announced 25th anniversary title. Information will be announced sequentially, so please stay tuned!”
The website teases six anniversary projects (which may not all necessarily be games), with the first to be announced on October 2. The rest are labeled “Coming Soon.”
The existence of Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream recently leaked through Australian Classification, and October 2 is the date of Koei Tecmo’s Tokyo Game Show 2021 Online Special Program, which will feature an unannounced game.
