The Information: Xbox to cut “hundreds” of jobs, consolidate game studios
Blizzard Entertainment layoffs "imminent," says Bloomberg's Jason Schreier.
Xbox plans to lay off hundreds of employees this week in its second major staff reduction of the year, according to a report by The Information citing someone briefed on the plans.
The organization reportedly also plans to consolidate “several” of its game studios.
In July, Xbox eliminated 1,600 roles and divested five studios, and promised to eliminate another 1,600 roles by the end of fiscal year 2027.
In the latest episode of the 8-4 Play podcast, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier also said layoffs at Blizzard Entertainment are “imminent.” The studio recently announced STARCRAFT, Diablo V, and World of Warcraft: Forever.
