This Week's Japanese Game Releases: Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, more

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered are the highlights of this week’s Japanese video game releases.

The Monster Hunter: World equivalent to the Monster Hunter series’ “G” rank expansions, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne adds new monsters, gear, and abilities, a new polar region called the “Hoarfrost Reach,” and more. While also available as a downloadable expansion to Monster Hunter: World, the retail version includes both Monster Hunter: World and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is a digital-only remaster of the 1999-released PlayStation title. In addition to enhanced graphics, the remastered version of the RPG features several enhancements including options to customize your gameplay experience and difficulty, such as battle assist options, game speed boost, and no random encounters.
