Media Create Sales: 12/17/18 – 12/23/18

Dragon Quest Builders 2 opened at 110,285 retail sales on PlayStation 4 and 97,673 on Switch for a total of 207,958 physical copies moved during its opening week, the latest Media Create sales figures reveal.

While the total of its combined SKUs were higher, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate maintained its top position with an additional 452,617 retail sales—surpassing a total two million sales. The holiday rush also saw high numbers for Super Mario Party at 155,060 sales and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee! at 144,770 sales.

Also new last week, Onimusha: Warlords opened at 21,367 retail sales on PlayStation 4 (the Switch version did not chart in the top 20), Katamari Damacy Reroll for Switch opened at 11,665 sales, and Super Neptunia RPG for PlayStation 4 opened at 11,521 sales (the Switch version was not released in Japan).

On the hardware side, Switch sold 278,701 units, the PlayStation 4 family sold 75,433 units, and the 3DS family sold 26,936 units. All are down from last week, but not by much.
