Fighting EX Layer next free character DLC launches in late March 2019

First look at Sharon in action.

Fighting EX Layer

Fighting EX Layer will add three more additional characters—two for free and one as a paid add-on—developer Arika announced.

The first additional character is planned for release at the end of March. The other two characters are planned for release by the end of May. Whether they will be released at the same time or one at a time is something that Arika has yet to determine.

While the developer never mentions any character by name, a new video was released showing the previously teased Sharon in action, suggesting she is the character due out in March. The developer also previously announced Terry Bogard from The King of Fighters series and teased Area, suggesting they are the characters that will follow by May.

Here is the full schedule of upcoming updates, via Arika:

Early January 2019

  • Update planned, mainly with fixes for the arcade version. (Skills and systems will be slightly adjusted.)

Mid-February 2019

  • Although this will be one month before the “Toushinsai” event, Arika is planning game adjustments. (Details are yet to be determined.)
  • Music will be added.

Late March 2019

  • One additional character will be released for free.

Fighting EX Layer is available now for PlayStation 4 and PC.
