Media Create Sales: 12/4/17 – 12/10/17

Yakuza: Kiwami 2 for PlayStation 4 sold 131,931 copies during its first week of release in Japan, the latest Media Create sales figures reveal.

Also new on the sales chart this week, D3 Publisher launched Earth Defense Force 5 for PlayStation 4, which opened at 111,075 sales. Bandai Namco released Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters for PlayStation 4, which sold 21,971 units.

Less notable new releases this week include PlayStation 4 titles Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package, which sold 13,029 copies, Nioh Complete Edition, which sold 8,021, and Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, which sold 7,309, as well as Sumikko Gurashi: Sumikko Park he Youkoso, which sold 9,435 copies.

On the hardware side, Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia and Capcom released the Monster Hunter: World Liolaeus Edition PlayStation 4 Pro last week, which boosted sales of the unit. In total, the PlayStation 4 family sold 85,687 units. It still was not able to best Switch, however, which moved another 164,908 units—40,138 more than the previous week. The 3DS family sold 45,573 units.
