Resident Evil 7 worldwide sales top 3.5 million

Resident Evil 7: biohazard has sold 3.5 million units across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Capcom’s latest financial results reveal.

Monster Hunter XX, which is only available in Japan, sold 1.7 million units.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One re-release of Resident Evil 6 sold one million units.

While Resident Evil 7: biohazard and Monster Hunter XX sold less than expected (four million and two million units were expected, respectively), Capcom said the former gave an “overall solid performance” and the latter is “off to a promising start.”

Dead Rising 4, which was projected to sell two million units, underperformed at less than a million units sold. Monster Hunter Stories, which is currently available in Japan and due out in the west this fall, also underperformed.
