Square Enix has released new Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional information and screenshots, detailing the 3DS game’s Nocchorin requests and new Ride Fusions feature.

■ Nocchorin

Whether it’s on the field or in battle, your partner Nocchorin is of great importance. Lift the veil on his hidden, true power.

■ The Three Things You Can Request from Nocchorin

Nocchorin is is an exceedingly encouraging partner who stands behind the protagonist at all times. You can make three requests to Nocchorin that will help you on your adventure. Since each request is useful to your adventure, don’t hesitate to ask of Nocchorin when you’re in trouble and need to borrow his power.

—When you make a request of Nocchorin, you can talk to him directly or touch the icon on the bottom left of the bottom screen.

(1) I want a shortcut!

Have Nocchorin progress the story instead of the protagonist. This is pleasant support for those who have played the previous game, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3.

—Whether it’s to before the boss battle of the area you’re in, or to clear the area, you can advance the story in any way that you like.

(2) Scout for me!

Nocchorin can take the place of the protagonist and scout monsters. When scouting tough monsters, Nocchorin will occasionally fail, but since you can him to do it any number of times, feel free to call out to him during your adventure. There may even be monsters that only Nocchorin can befriend.

■ Ride Fusion

Ride Fusion is a new element added to Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional.

In battle, a Ride Fusion gathers up the power of two monsters and fuses them into one powerful monster. A Ride Fusion is performed between the monster the player is riding and the monster Nocchorin is riding. (The monster Nocchorin is riding becomes a light that is absorbed by the protagonist’s monster.)

When you perform a Ride Fusion, the monster the protagonist is riding becomes huge and is strengthened with a hidden, overwhelming power.

Ride Fusion Awakens New Special Skills and Traits

Activating Ride Fusion triggers exclusive new special skills and traits. These are just a number of the new abilities that appear:

—Special Skill: Touma Bakuenzan

Surrounds the entire area with exploding flames. The lower the physical strength of the user, the more damage the skill will deal.

—Special Skill: God’s Judgment

Calls forth a violent thunder as if it’s God’s judgment itself, and deals a great amount of damage to all enemies.

—Trait: Dragon Killer

Like the name implies, this trait significantly increases the amount of damage you deal to dragon-type monsters.

—Trait: Item Max Increase

Significantly increases the number of items an enemy potentially may drop.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional is due out for 3DS in Japan on February 9 for 5,250 yen.
