NieR: Automata will have a collaboration with Final Fantasy XV in the form of an “Engine Blade” one-handed sword for YoRHa No.2 Type B. The weapon is a symbol of Final Fantasy XV protagonist Noctis.
The Engine Blade has its own exclusive evasion effect. The weapon model is a direct import from Final Fantasy XV, and the way the effects and damage amount display are the same. There also seems to be a Weapon Story.
Final Fantasy XV will have a NieR: Automata collaboration as well, but details won’t be announced until a later date.
NieR: Automata will launch for PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 23, and for PlayStation 4 and PC in North America and Europe in early 2017.
Thanks, Hachima Kikou.
Update 2:00 a.m.: Famitsu has posted an online teaser for its magazine coverage, providing a image of 2B holding the weapon, which is purposely pixelated.
