Serious Sam VR announced for PC

Serious Sam returns in virtual reality.

Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope

Croteam announced Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope for Vive, coming to Steam Early Access this summer.

Here’s an overview, via publisher Devolver Digital:

Serious Sam returns in his first ever VR adventure to dual wield an overwhelming amount of explosive ordinance and battle Mental’s relentless hordes in Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope. The Earth Defense Force is crumbling under the crushing offensive of Mental and his legions of savage warriors and beasts. Now the galaxy’s last hope must battle from planet to planet – piling up and upgrading his arsenal along the way – and lay waste to massive alien swarms under Mental’s control.

  • Explosive VR Action: Select your preferred weaponry from the deck of your starship and then drop down right into the classic arcade FPS action in immersive VR with full motion controls. Line up your shot and unleash assault rifles, rocket launchers, and even the trademark Serious Cannon!
  • Massive Enemy Hordes: Prepare for an onslaught of familiar monstrous faces and an array of brand new enemy combatants in the unbelievable enemy hordes that only Serious Sam delivers. Steel your nerves and steady your weapon for colossal boss fights at the end of each mission!
  • Upgradeable Arsenal and Skills: Power-up your dominating arsenal in-between missions and upgrade your abilities like dual wielding massive weapons or utilize a shield to have your back in battle!

As for PlayStation VR, Croteam producer Ante Vrdelja told YouTube Live at E3: “[As for] PS VR, we are kindly talking with Sony and implementing the giant enemy crabs, so we’ll see how it goes.”
