At the Einherjar tavern in the Sky City of Line, where adventurers go to meet up, players can create their own custom character. You’ll be able to customize your character’s race, hairdo, hair color, skin color, and voice. Although customization elements are limited, you’ll be able to create a character different from Kirito and friends.
Below, you’ll see customized character examples for the game’s nine different races:
Salamanders can wield two-handed and one-handed swords, as well as knuckles. They’re an attacker type, specializing in close combat and fire-type magic.
Sylphs can wield rapiers, daggers, and bows. With its physical and magic attacks, they come in handy in all situations. They specialize in wind-type magic.
Undines can wield one-handed swords, staffs, and bows. They specialize in water-type and recovery magic, and act as the party’s support.
Cait Siths can wield knuckles, daggers, and bows. They’re also the only “Beast Tamers” of the nine races, able to summon familiars to the battlefield.
Leprechauns can wield spears, staffs, and two-handed axes. In addition to acting as the party’s vanguard, it can also bestow support effects to allies.
Gnomes can wield two-handed axes, knuckles, and two-handed swords. With its high stamina and attack power, it is strong in close combat. It specializes in earth-type magic.
Spriggans can wield one-handed swords, staffs, and daggers. Its magic can debuff enemies, and it also has special skills that will aid adventurers.
Imps can wield katanas, one-handed swords, and staffs. It balances both physical and magic attacks with ease, and specializes in dark-type magic.
Pookas can wield staffs, daggers, and bows. For all of its cuteness, it’s an impressive race. It is the only race that can use the special “Song” power.
Custom Characters in Single-Player
You can also use your customized character in story mode (not just multiplayer). However, the story will still progress as if you’re playing as Kirito.
Cait Sith characters such as Silica and Argo can fight with their tamed familiars.
In addition to the main story, there will be various sub-episodes for players to enjoy.
In this screenshot, Yui and Silica have something to ask of Kirito. Once those two get in his hair, they won’t stop at anything until they get what they want out of him….
In this screenshot, we see Asuna and Kirito on a date. Asuna is wearing her Yukata, which is a limited time item you can only get by playing this sub-episode. The other heroines have yukata costumes that can also be acquired somehow.
In this screenshot, we see Lisbeth explaining what player-made items are to Kirito.
Finally, here are some new CG event images.
