Watch Sony launch PlayStation 4 in its home country.

Japanese consumers have been lining up, and the PlayStation 4 midnight launch event is about to begin. Just under two hours remain until the system is officially launched in its home country, with the broadcast set to begin at 10:30 p.m. Japan time.

The live stream will feature a number of notable guests, including:

  • Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid V director, game designer, and producer)
  • Shinji Hashimoto (Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III producer)
  • Naoki Yoshida (Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn producer and director)
  • Toshiro Nagoshi (Yakuza series general director)
  • Mayuko Kawakita (female model)
  • Viking (comedian)

Sony Computer Entertainment president and group CEO Andrew House, SCE Japan Asia president Hiroshi Kawano, and SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida will also be in attendance.
