Following her appearance in last weekend’s trailer, Sony has detailed new The Last of Us character Tess—Joel’s partner in crime.
Tess is a “hardened survivor” who operates in the black market of a city under martial law, and lives in one of the last remaining quarantine zones. As Joel’s partner, they have become well known within the criminal underworld for their ruthless behavior. Tess is street smart and confident, a “savvy strategist” and negotiator, and is able to produce intelligent plans to secure the contraband for her and Joel’s trade. Like Joel, Terry survives by willing to do what others won’t. She has high trust and loyalty for Joel, but secretly questions whether he feels the same for her.
Annie Wersching, of the hit TV series 24, plays the role of Tess. Like Troy Baker with Joel and Ashley Johnson with Ellie, Wersching has been involved in many hours of motion capture. See a video of the process below. Additionally, view a new set of screenshots featuring Tess, and one with Ellie readying a bow, at the gallery.
