Hitman: Absolution will feature an asynchronous multiplayer mode called “Contracts,” Square Enix revealed at Gamescom today.
In Contracts, you can create custom hit challenges for other players by choosing a level, outfit, and load-out, and as you play through that level, tag and assassinate up to three different targets, which can be anyone within the level.
In order to save the contract and share it with friends, the player creating the hit must be able to complete it. In doing so, you’re able to use any weapon or disguise brought into or found within the level.
The mode, essentially, is a play, create, and share-type affair. After sharing, players can try to best their buddies and reach the top of the global, loca, and friend leader boards attached to each contract.
Completing a contract earns players in-game currencey, which can be used to unlock more disquises, weapons, and weapon upgrades.
Gamescom attendees this week will be able to check out the mode for themselves during a special event arranged by developer Io Interactive.
