PlayStation Vita launches December 17 in Japan

Confirming an early leak, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced the PlayStation Vita will launch on December 17 in Japan.

The 3G/Wi-Fi model will cost 29,980 yen, while the Wi-Fi-only model will cost 24,980 yen. NTT Docomo will be the official PSV 3G carrier in Japan. A 20 hour prepaid 3G plan is being offering for 980 yen, while a 100 prepaid plan will cost 4,980 yen.
