The San Diego Comic-Con is a key event for fighting fans, it seems. The latest fighting game to come out of the show is Soulcalibur V, which is set 17 years after Soulcalibur IV. GameSpot posted an 18 minute video of the game, where Namco Bandai brand manager Dennis Lee and community manager Richard Bantegui demonstrate the game and its new features.
You’ll hear about the quick-step and critical edge early on. The former is a side step that allows you to jump left or right to dodge enemy attacks, and the latter is a flashy attack that deals a great amount of damage. Later in the video, Lee teases “some really cool stuff we’re going to be doing online,” but doesn’t share details.
Additionally, Soulcalibur V producer Hisahru Tago posted detailed character profiles for Ivy, Natsu, and Z.W.E.I. on the PlayStation Blog.
