Dark Souls out October, Collector’s Edition announced

Dark Souls will launch for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in October 2011, Namco Bandai has announced. A new Collector’s Edition, scheduled to debut alongside the standard edition, has been detailed.

The Dark Souls Collector’s Edition will run for $59.99 (yes, the same price as the standard edition) and include the following extras:

  • A limited edition art book containing premium illustrations of characters and environments from the game
  • A mini-strategy book
  • Behind-the-scenes videos from the development studio detailing various stages of game concepts, design and building
  • The game’s soundtrack for digital download

All of these extras will come packaged in a custom designed metal case.
