SOE hit with massive layoffs

Sony Online Entertainment was hit with massive layoffs this week, resulting in the closure of three studios and one-third of the company departed.

SOE Seattle, developing The Agency, SOE Denver, behind Magic The Gathering: Tactics, and SOE Tuscon, known for PoxNora, have all been closed.

Additionally, half of the staff at DC Universe Online developer SOE Austin has been given the boot. SOE San Diego, developer of Free Realms, was hit with a large number of layoffs, as well.

If we’ve heard correctly, PlayStation 3 and PC‘s The Agency is no longer in development.
