Namco responds to Tales localization requests
While Tales of Vesperia for PlayStation 3 is still no where to be seen in the west, Japan’s already received announcements for three new Tales series games. Those being: Tales of Graces F for PS3, Tales Title 4 for PS3, and Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 for PSP.
That being said, a lot of western Tales fans are considerably disappointed. I agree. I’m a Tales fan. I’m disappointed, as well. We haven’t seen a new Tales release since Vesperia on Xbox 360 in 2008. After crying out for the franchise’s western reappearance on their Facebook wall, Namco’s responded.
“Firstly, thank you all for your excitement around the series,” Namco wrote on their Facebook wall. “We also love the series here at Namco of America and are working with our Japan counterparts to determine if we’ll see US releases for these games. Unfortunately, we don’t currently have any plans to bring Tales of Graces to the US. If this changes, we’ll let you know as soon as we can!”
They specifically mention Tales of Graces – the Wii title – is not coming to the US. They don’t mention any of the other titles, which is good. The fact that their “working” with Namco Japan makes things sound even better. Perhaps we’ll see the release of Vesperia for PS3, Graces F for PS3, and the new untitled PS3 game in the west, after all.
