Arcade Archives Balloon Bomber launches October 1

Arcade Archives 2 Balloon Bomber will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2, and Arcade Archives Balloon Bomber for PlayStation 4 and Switch, on October 1, developer Hamster announced. The Arcade Archives 2 version will cost $9.99 / 1,100 yen, while Arcade Archives version will cost $7.99 / 838 yen. An upgrade from Arcade Archives to Arcade Archives 2 will be available for $2.99 / 330 yen.

Shoot for the Bomb!

Balloon Bomber is a shooting game released by TAITO in 1980.

Control the anti-aircraft gun and destroy the balloon bombs as they gently sway through the air.

However, destroying the balloon bombs is no easy task. Aim and shoot so your bullets hit only the bomb itself.

If your shot hits the balloon instead, the bomb will fall and blow a hole in the ground. Be careful, as the anti-aircraft gun cannot pass over holes, narrowing your movement range.

The Arcade Archives series is developed with the concept of faithfully reproducing classic arcade games. It also includes convenient features such as difficulty and screen settings, rewind, rapid-fire, and multiple save slots. In addition, players can compete for the best scores with players around the world through online rankings.

Arcade Archives 2 series introduces a brand-new mode called Time Attack Mode, in addition to the Original Mode, Hi Score Mode, and Caravan Mode from Arcade Archives. Time Attack Mode focuses on how quickly you can complete the game, regardless of the score you achieve.

What’s more, with VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support, the gameplay can be reproduced even more accurately, closer to the original arcade experience.
