Funselektor and Strelka Games will host a closed playtest for off-road exploration game over the hill from April 24 to 26 on Steam, the developers announced. Sign-ups are available now.
Here are the latest details:
over the hill is an off-road exploration game about the quiet thrill of getting lost together. Drive vintage 4x4s through vast open environments inspired by real-world wilderness. There are no racing lines and no podiums here. Instead, it’s about choosing your own route, reading the terrain and figuring out how to reach the next lookout when the road disappears.
Traverse rivers, climb steep rock faces, and winch your friends out of impossible situations in drop-in cooperative play. Every vehicle handles differently, every surface reacts to weight and momentum, and every journey becomes a small story you create together. The latest trailer reveals “Algeria,” one of the game’s regions, a sun-baked landscape of sweeping plateaus, ancient ruins, sand-swept valleys and even fallen meteorites waiting to be discovered.
Unlock new vehicles, customize your setup, and venture deeper into the unknown. Whether you’re scouting alone at sunset or tackling harsh conditions with friends, over the hill is about exploration, freedom and the joy of the drive. Want to experience it for yourself? Sign up now for the closed playtest running April 24 to 26 on Steam. Registrations are open until April 16!
over the hill is due out for PC via Steam in 2026, followed by PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2.
