Update 12/05/25 at 9:08 a.m.: Running With Scissors has canceled POSTAL: Bullet Paradise following an ‘overwhelmingly negative response’ from the community that elements of the game are very likely generated by artificial intelligence. Here is the full message from Running With Scissors founder Vince Desi:
After revealing POSTAL: Bullet Paradise, a title Running With Scissors was planning on publishing but not developing, we’ve been overwhelmed with negative responses from our concerned POSTAL community. The strong feedback from them is that elements of the game are very likely AI-generated and thus has caused extreme damage to our brand and our company reputation.
We’ve always been, and will always be, transparent with our community. Our trust in the development team [Goonswarm Games] is broken; therefore, we’ve killed the project. We have a lot of good things coming (some you know and some you don’t).
Since forming Running With Scissors in 1996, we’ve always said that our fans are part of the team. Our priority is to always do right by the millions who support the POSTAL franchise. We are grateful for the opportunity to make the games we want to play, and will continue to focus on our new projects and updates coming in 2026 and beyond. We can’t wait to share more!
Original Story 12/03/25 at 9:24 a.m.: Publisher Running With Scissors and developer Goonswarm Games have announced POSTAL: Bullet Paradise, a cooperative online play-supported “bullet-heaven” first-person shooter. It will launch first for PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam in Q3 2026 for $19.99, followed by PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch at a later date.
“POSTAL: Bullet Paradise is all about releasing the essence of POSTAL and its signature gallows humor into an over-the-top and highly replayable package,” said Goonswarm Games CEO Artem Korovkin in a press release. “Equal parts irreverent and action-packed, we’re thrilled to partner with Running With Scissors to bring this dystopian slice of Paradise to life.”
Running With Scissors founder Vince Desi added, “No way in Hell Mike J is going to Heaven. But he’s definitely gunning for POSTAL: Bullet Paradise next year.”
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
POSTAL: Bullet Paradise throws the Dude straight into the Shitty Future, a world where every robot, psycho, mutant, and corporate goon wants you very, very dead. Good news: you don’t care. Even better news: there’s plenty of junk lying around that can be turned into guns, bombs, or whatever else makes things explode.
This is a bullet-heaven shooter with online cooperative play, an arsenal of improvised weapons, and more psychos than the Dude has unpaid parking tickets. Pick your favorite Dude from across the POSTAL multiverse and carve your way through waves of chaos, upgrades, and stupidly dangerous power fantasy moments.
Key Features
- Play as Multiple Dudes – Choose from iconic versions of the POSTAL Dude from across the entire series. Each one has unique stats, perks, and attitude problems.
- Online Cooperative Carnage – Team up with friends (or other unstable strangers) to survive the endless storm of enemies. Revive each other, stack builds, and ruin the future together.
- Bullet-Heaven Gameplay – Hundreds of enemies on screen. Thousands of projectiles. Zero shame. Movement and build choices matter… mostly because everything is trying to erase you.
- DIY Arsenal – Trash becomes firepower. Upgrade weird weapons, stack absurd modifiers, and turn broken scraps into overpowered monstrosities.
- The Shitty Future – A dystopian world filled with psycho, corporate cultists, malfunctioning robots, and way too much surveillance. If it moves, it probably wants to kill you.
- Progression That Actually Feels Good – Unlock new Dudes and other well-known POSTAL characters, weapons, abilities, and synergies as you survive longer. Die horribly, come back stronger.
- Multiverse Flavor – POSTAL 1, 2, 3, 4, Brain Damaged… they’re all here. Easter eggs, references, and familiar faces for fans who know the chaos by heart.
- Stupid Jokes, Smart Explosions – POSTAL-style humor and a lot of things blowing up. Sometimes both at once.
