Multi-sport arcade game Sportia announced for consoles, PC

Brazilian developer Hermit Crab Game Studio, with support from Ubisoft, has announced Sportia, a multi-sport arcade game in development for unspecified consoles and PC (Steam). A release date was not announced.
Sportia features a wide range of sports, playable with various characters with different skill levels and shapes, with the goal being to build a team based on the sport and compete against others.
“This partnership marks a new chapter for Hermit Crab,” Hermit Crab Game Studio CEO Matheus Vivian said in a press release. “After ten years working with iconic sports brands, we’re thrilled to collaborate with a global gaming powerhouse to create our most ambitious game to date.”
Hermit Crab Game Studio head of product and Sportia creative director Vitor Leaes added, “After years working alongside global sports brands and renowned [intellectual properties], we felt it was time to craft an original experience that reflects who we are. Creating a game that celebrates the rich diversity of our Brazilian culture and passion for sports has been a long-time dream, and now it’s finally coming to life.”
Ubisoft Strategic Innovation Lab vice president Nicolas Pouard said, “At Ubisoft, we value working with studios that bring both expertise and passion.
