Metroidvania / side-scrolling action platformer LUCID will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam in Q1 2026, publisher Apogee Entertainment and developer Matte Black Studio announced.

Music
David Wise of Donkey Kong Country, Diddy Kong Racing, Star Fox Adventures, and Yooka-Laylee fame will be providing all new original music for LUCID! I’m so excited to be working with one of my favorite video game composers, who worked on the very games that influenced LUCID. His brand of atmospheric and evocative music is going to be a wonderful addition to LUCID‘s soundtrack, and I can’t wait to work with him to bring the world of Aedyn to life!

No one knows why Troika descended from the heavens and struck the Lucid Giant that fateful day… Do reasons matter?
After the ‘Great Fall’ and the destruction of the Lucid Giant Aylo,
the world of Aedyn has succumbed to dissonance.
The Sentinel Order, meant to guard a fragile balance, is dwindling.
As Oenn, a young aspiring Sentinel, you are sent on a quest to revive the fallen Giant, and restore the harmony of the Celestial Fabric once again.
