Switch price increase announced for the U.S. [Update]
Switch 2 systems, Switch 2 and Switch software, and Nintendo Switch Online memberships not affected.
Nintendo will increase the price of the original Switch family of systems in the United States based on market conditions, effective August 3, Nintendo of America announced.
Affected products include Switch – OLED Model, Switch, Switch Lite, and select Switch accessories.
Other products, including certain Switch 2 accessories, amiibo, and Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, will also experience price changes.
Pricing for Switch 2 systems, Switch 2 and Switch software, and Nintendo Switch Online memberships will not be affected.
The pricing update in the United States follows a similar pricing change that recently went in effect for Canada.
Update 11:30 a.m.: Target has already gone live with the new pricing, which is as follows:
- Switch – OLED Model – $399.99 (previously $349.99)
- Switch – $339.99 (previously $299.99)
- Switch Lite – $229.99 (previously $199.99)
- Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo – $109.99 (previously $99.99)
- Joy-Con 2 controllers – $99.99 (previously $94.99)
