Nintendo Switch Online new feature closed playtest returns from July 28 to August 10

Nintendo will host a second playtest for a new feature coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service from July 28 at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET to August 10 at 5:59 p.m. PT / 8:59 p.m. ET, the company announced. The test is for the same feature first tested in October 2024, and users who participated in the previous playtest can also participate in this playtest.

Users can apply via the application website from July 18 at 3:00 p.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. ET to July 21 at 7:59 a.m. PT / 10:59 a.m. ET. Applicants must have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Membership, be at least 18 years of age, and be located in either the United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Brazil, or Japan. Over 40,000 applicants will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis, while participants from Japan will be chosen via raffle if the number of applicants exceeds a fixed amount.
