Donkey Kong Bananza developed by ‘same team as Super Mario Odyssey’

Donkey Kong Bananza is developed by the ‘same team’ that developed Super Mario Odyssey, Nintendo confirmed during a recent media preview event.

As per Eurogamer, a Nintendo representative said, “The development team of Donkey Kong Bananza is the same as for Super Mario Odyssey.”

Although it did not mention the development studio by name, VGC reports that Nintendo said the studio is “based in Tokyo,” which would mean that Nintendo Entertainment Planning & Development Tokyo is handling the title.

When asked for clarification by VGC, a Nintendo spokesperson would not clarify whether Super Mario Odyssey‘s same creators were working on Donkey Kong Bananza, or whether it was a different team within Nintendo Entertainment Planning & Development Tokyo.

Donkey Kong Bananza is due out for Switch 2 on July 17.
