Here is an overview of the game, via Netmarble:
The trailer offers a captivating glimpse into the game’s vibrant universe, highlighting the journey of main characters Cloud, Verna, and Nyanners as they embark on an epic adventure through fantastical landscapes filled with adorable and diverse monsters.
The featured footage shows Nyanners using unique taming abilities to capture monsters, showcasing one of the game’s core mechanics. It also teases thrilling party-based battles, where multiple characters fight simultaneously in fluid, real-time action sequences. A striking new character named Sangun, inspired by East Asian design elements, also makes his debut, hinting at a deeper cultural and narrative layer within the game.
Netmarble has also opened applications for the game’s closed beta test, inviting players to gain early access and shape the game’s final release. The closed beta test is scheduled to run from June 19 to 26. In addition, MONGIL: STAR DIVE is officially listed on the global gaming platform Epic Games Store. Players can add the game to their wishlist to receive the latest updates, including release schedules and news.
MONGIL: STAR DIVE builds on the legacy of Monster Taming, Netmarble’s beloved title that first launched in 2013. Building on its predecessor’s charm and gameplay, MONGIL: STAR DIVE introduces a rich, evolved experience driven by Unreal Engine 5, delivering cinematic visuals and a compelling story. Players can look forward to a unique combat system based on “Tag Play,” where they control a three-character party in dynamic, fast-paced battles. At the heart of the game is its monster collection system, allowing players to tame, collect, and synthesize a wide range of fantastical creatures, adding depth and strategy to the experience.
MONGIL: Star Drive will be available for console, PC via Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android. A release date has yet to be announced.
