About
Long ago, deep in Japan’s past, a tale of those drawn together by the cursed sword began in Muramasa: The Demon Blade.
Then, a second collection of stories revealed another side of the tale in Genroku Legends.
Now these two works have been brought together and further refined as Muramasa: Revenant Blades. And so, a fantastical tale of madness and conflict is about to begin.

Six protagonists, each with their own past and purpose. Which story you experience first is up to you.
Sword-Fighting
Next, let’s take a look at the basics of combat.
The thrill of combat comes from fast-paced action and simple, intuitive controls. Keep up your attacks to seamlessly chain together combos, then mix in jumps and dashes to pull off moves like this. You can block enemy attacks or even deflect them.
But keep an eye on your spirit gauge at the top of the screen. If your spirit runs out, your weapon will break. So, be sure to switch weapons before that happens.
Sheathed weapons gradually recover. Sheathing even a broken weapon will recover its spirit. The key to combat is mastering secret arts. From powerful strikes to ranged attacks, a variety of skills are at your fingertips.
Using secret arts consumes spirit. But you can recover the spirit spent on secret arts by landing normal attacks.
Weave basic attacks together with secret arts to flow through battle with style.
Combat Skills
Each character brings their own unique style to combat.
- Kisuke and Momohime wield two types of swords, normal and long blades, and can unleash 108 secret arts to cut down their enemies.
- Okoi is capable of battling in both her human and cat forms. Once her transformation gauge is full, she can temporarily transform to unleash havic upon her foes.
- Gonbe fights using a hoe, bamboo spear, and sickle. As he switches between them, his allies may jump in to land a hand.
- Arashimaru wields three different ninja weapons, specializing in long range combat. He can use a secret arc to summon Shirohebi, who supports him in combat.
- Rajaki rampages through battle in both her Hellion and Hellraiser forms. Transform into a giant oni to overwhelm enemies with incredible power.
Master each character’s unique strengths to gain the upper hand in battle.
Training
Expand your tactics by mastering secret arts.
As Kisuke and Momohime gain experience with their swords, they can master new secret arts. You can view all the secret arts you’ve mastered and assign up to three for ground combat and three for aerial combat.
Mastered arts can be used in addition to the secret art embedded within each sword. You can activate them freely using directional inputs.
Enhance your favorite secret arts to increase their power. Master a variety of secret arts and create a combat style all your own.
Smithing
Strengthen your equipment through blacksmithing and training.
Kisuke and Momohime can use blacksmithing to forge new swords.
Forging a sword requires souls obtained from defeated enemies.
Use resources to further strengthen the swords you forged.
The other characters can learn new skills through training and create charms that enhance their abilities and weapons.
Equipping charms can boost stats such as attack power and spirit power.
Use blacksmithing and training to strengthen the equipment you’ll need for the battles ahead.
Enjoy Travel
When you need a break from battle, take some time to relax.
You’ll find hot springs with breathtaking views throughout the land. Soak in the warm waters to restore your vitality and gain special benefits. You may even have a few unexpected encounters.
And no journey would be complete without a good meal. Eating meals grants vitality, which can be used to enhance secret arts. Enjoy some exquisite cuisine to keep you going on your journey. With a cookbook and the right ingredients, you can even prepare your very own meals.
Show a palanquin bearer your destination on a map and they’ll take you where you want to go. You can even travel to places you haven’t visited yet. Travel too far and you may find yourself in over your head.
And when you’re near the coast, take a relaxing boat ride. You can even enjoy some fishing along the way. But watch out, you never know when a giant sea monster might attack.
There’s plenty to discover beyond the battlefield.
