Secret Mode splits from Sumo Group

Publisher acquired by financial investor Emona Capital.

Sumo Group has sold publishing subsidiary Secret Mode to financial investor Emona Capital, the companies announced.

Secret Mode co-founder James Schall and vice president of publishing Ed Blincoe will continue to lead Secret Mode under the “full backing” of Emona Capital as it “enters its next phase.”

Secret Mode has previously published games like Still Wakes the Deep, Turbo Golf Racing, and Eternal Threads. Its currently announced upcoming projects are Empyreal and Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life.

While Emona Capital has previously invested in game development studios such as Relic Entertainment and Amber Studio, Secret Mode marks its first investment in game publishing.
