404 GAME RE:SET to end service on January 5, 2024
Mobile RPG to shut down after less than a year of service.404 GAME RE:SET will end service on January 5, 2024 at 12:00 JST, less than one year after its launch, SEGA announced.
“We have come to conclusion that it will be difficult to provide users satisfactory service going forward, so we have decided to end service,” SEGA said in a statement.
The version 1.4.0 update, which is due out in late November, will add an offline-compatible mode. Through this mode, users will be able to look back on the game’s scenarios, and their acquired cast members, figures, and more after service ends. Battles will no longer be accesible. Users must download and save their game data to their device anytime between December 13 and January 5 in order to access it offline.
404 GAME RE:SET first launched for iOS via App Store and Android via Google Play on April 25 in Japan and Asia. It follows the story of the player, who lives in a world distorted by “SEGA” and must fight against them in order to restore the world as it was. Famous games appear in the form of beautiful girl characters, and since launch, collaborations with SEGA, Bandai Namco, SNK, TAITO, Capcom, and more have appeared.
Main story additions, new characters, new figures, and additional events will continue to be added until service ends.
