Skull and Bones delayed to early fiscal year 2023 to 2024

Publisher Ubisoft and developer Ubisoft Singapore have delayed Skull and Bones from its previously planned March 9 release date to early in its 2023 to 2024 fiscal year, which begins on April 1, 2023 and ends on March 31, 2024.

The full quote from Ubisoft is as follows:

Players will be able to discover the beauty of Skull and Bones in the upcoming beta phase. The additional time has already paid off and brought impressive improvements to its quality, which has been confirmed by recent playtests. We believe players will be positively surprised by its evolution. We have decided to postpone its release in order to have more time to showcase a much more polished and balanced experience and to build awareness. Skull and Bones will now be released early 2023 to 24.

Skull and Bones will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store, and Luna.

Update 01/12/23 at 11:30 a.m.: Here is a message from the Skull and Bones development team on the delay:

Today we’d like to share an update regarding our release date as we made the decision to delay Skull and Bones a little more.

Our determination and focus remain the same—offer the best in-game experience possible to our players from day one. This extra time will help us in providing further polish and balancing to our game experience. Following your feedback from previous tests.

We also have an array of exciting content coming up on our social channels and ready to be shared with you. Starting tomorrow, with our latest episode of the deck, bringing new and exclusive gameplay footage focused on our game’s lore.
