Volition moves from Deep Silver to The Gearbox Entertainment Company
Saints Row "performed in line with management expectations in the quarter."Saints Row developer Volition will move from being a subsidiary of Deep Silver, to being a subsidiary of The Gearbox Entertainment Company, Embracer Group announced. Embracer Group is the parent company of both companies.
“Going forward, Volition will transition to become part of Gearbox which has all the tools, including an experienced management team in the United States, to create future success at Volition,” reads the press release. “This is the first internal group transfer where we transfer a major studio between operative groups, but it is not necessarily the last.”
Embracer Group also stated that the latest entry in the Saints Row series, which launched on August 23, “did not meet the full expectations and left the fanbase partially polarized,” but financially “performed in line with management expectations in the quarter.”
