Stand by You first launched for iOS and Android on November 5, 2015 in Japan, followed by PC via DMM Games on November 12. An English release followed for iOS and Android on November 24, 2017, and for PC via Steam on December 8.
According to Water Phoenix, programming issues with the existing release make it difficult to update the game, and it is possible it will disappear from digital storefronts entirely (for smartphones, at least). So in order to reach new and old players alike, Water Phoenix wants to work with publisher Kemco to port the game to PlayStation 4 and Switch as a digital title.
The console version would not just be a simple port. Since Stand by You released over six years ago, Water Phoenix wants to redraw all the portrait and event images, as well as add new illustrations. Here are a few before-and-after examples:
