The Idolmaster: Starlit Season will launch for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam on May 27 in Japan for 8,200 yen (9,020 yen with tax), publisher Bandai Namco and developer ILCA announced. The Steam version is region-blocked and will support Japanese, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Korean language options.
In addition to the standard edition, the following two special editions will be available:
Starlit Box (PS4) – 13,800 yen (15,180 yen with tax)

- PC pre-orders will also include the “Colorful Session” wallpaper.
First-print copies of the physical edition include a product code for the downloadable content outfit “Daybreak Yukata.”
On PlayStation 4, first-print copies the digital edition include the “Colorful Selection” PlayStation 4 theme and pre-orders include the “Haruka Amami” PlayStation Network avatar.
On PC, pre-orders include the “Colorful Selection” wallpaper.
Asobi Store pre-orders include a product code for the original costume downloadable content “MOT Asobi Style.”

Updated Story Synopsis
“Starlit Season” is an idol unit competition in which the winners can become the first idols to perform in the newly opened Starlit Dome.
“You,” a producer of the talent agency 765 Production, have returned to Japan from an overseas training program.
After returning to the 765 Production office, you are greeted by the CEO Junjirou Takagi and hear his idea to “assemble a brand-new, special idol unit of members comprising from different agencies” to compete in the Starlit Season.
Takagi tells you that he has already called several agencies and all of them are have given him positive replies. And only moments after your arrival, you are officially tasked by Takagi to produce this four-brand special unit.
You talk directly with the idols from each agency and gradually form your special unit. Meanwhile, you meet a girl named Kohaku Okuzora. Although you successfully manage to scout her, this encounter will have a a significant effect on the fate of the special unit.
And so 29 idols, guided by the moonlight, prepare for the Starlit Season dream competition spanning the four seasons.
Led by you the producer and a diverse group of idols, this is where “Project Luminous” begins.

What is The Idolmaster?
In The Idolmaster, you play the role of an idol producer, training idols and sharing various hardships with unique idols to achieve the common goal of becoming a top idol. This is the idol production game of The Idolmaster.
In this title, idols who have gathered to enliven the idol world form a joint unit that transcends the boundaries of the offices they belong to. A completely new story will unfold with new idols participating in the new mega event, “Starlit Season.”
Now, the girls are getting started in The Idolmaster: Starlit Season the latest work for the 15th anniversary of The Idolmaster. Produce “Project Luminous,” a joint unit of the four brands from the The Idolmaster series!
The visual presentation of the previous The Idolmaster series has been completely redesigned to give players a thrilling sense of presence and realistic representation of the idols!
Overcome the trials and challenges of the final stage of the “Starlit Season!”
The goal is to create a unit of idols with unique personalities and manage their schedules to achieve their goals.
First up are the lessons. Play three mini-games to “grow” your idol’s abilities: “Vocal Lesson,” “Dance Lesson,” and “Visual Lesson,” where you hit the buttons at the right timing!
On stage, coordinate the participating members, live costumes, and music, and appeal to the audience in time to the rhythm of the song! The goal is to win in “Live,” “Auditions,” and “Festivals” and increase your “Fans”!
Gather fans as you complete lessons and stages, and aim to participate and succeed in the mega live concert!
