Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 to support higher frame rate on PS5

Resolution will remain the same, however.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2

Free-to-play team battle action game Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 for PlayStation 4 will run at a higher frame rate when played on PlayStation 5, development director Akiyoshi Kanbe said in a developer newsletter.

A specific frame rate was not announced, but it will be greater than PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. The game will not gain any additional improvements on PlayStation 5, such as 4K resolution.

Here is the full snippet from the developer newsletter:

As we’ve received a lot of positive feedback since the official announcement the other day, PlayStation 4’s Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 will be available to play on PlayStation 5 on November 12 with the same content.

To add a little bit more about the operation, there are no changes to the game content or settings at all, so the game is not compatible with 4K resolution and so on, but you will benefit from the “improved frame rate” when playing on PlayStation 5.

As well as the improved frame rate when comparing the regular PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, you’ll experience a more stable and smoother rendering in the game.

In terms of experience by console, the frame rate increases in the order of PlayStation 5 > PlayStation 4 Pro > PlayStation 4.

There is no advantage other than the frame rate, such as being able to see the battlefield farther, for example.

We will continue to develop the game so that players can enjoy Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 on PlayStation 5 as well, so we hope for your support.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 worldwide.
