Here are the details on Ninja JaJaMaru: The Great Yokai Battle, via the official website:
In Ninja JaJaMaru: The Great Yokai Battle, JaJaMaru and friends will face against the largest yo-kai army invasion in history! There are more than 20 playable characters with various abilities, including returning yokai from the series plus the newly debuting JaJaMaru family and more. By collecting the “Golden Beads” and “Souls” that drop from defeated enemies, you can unlock new playable characters. There is also support for single-screen local two-player multiplayer.
Both the player and enemies have their own health gauge. If the player’s health gauge is fully depleted, they will fail the stage. Utilize jump and attack actions to do away with the incessantly attacking yokai. Defeat them all to clear the stage.
By breaking floors or defeating enemies, items such as “Invisibility Medicine” (become invisible) or “Trolley” (ram attack the enemy) will randomly appear. There are also “Scrolls” that trigger new actions such as “Fire Jutsu” and “Clone Jutsu.” Use these skillfully to clear each stage.
When “Ninpou Gamapakkun” is activated, you will enter Fever Time. Enemies become stunned and can be quickly taken care of. When riding Gamapakkun in two-player local multiplayer, the player who rides on its back can still attack normally. Additionally, if you acquire the rare “Jaleco Marks,” then…
By acquiring a certain amount of “Gold Beads” and “Souls” from defeated enemies, you can exchange them for “Jaleco Coins,” which can be used to unlock new playable characters. Be sure to try out the new actions of each character, who have various skills.
Additionally, by saving up “Jaleco Coins,” you can unlock the Gallery, which features a collection of music and artwork. Here, you will be able to set the new music and arrangements made for this game, as well as the classic original sound source music, as your in-game background music. Furthermore, you will be able to check out precious artwork from the Ninja JaJaMaru series that you can only see here.
