Tactical Combat System
T-C-S is the name of the weapons given the code-name “Valkyrie” used to combat enemy Chimera. Asahi Shiramine, as well as each member of the Special Military Force Valkyrie uses a T-C-S to battle Chimera.
Valkyries are weapons designed to showcase their maximum effect in locations where weapon use is restricted, such as in town areas and facilities. Additionally, in order to combat various types of Chimera, close combat in addition to middle and long-distance combat is also supported, and each armament can switch out parts to match the situation. When battling Chimera, it is possible to transform instantly to the most suitable form to carry out an attack.
A T-C-S can not only be used as a melee weapon, but in the Options you can also switch out “Armament Parts” to those of a shooting weapon and such.
Armament Parts include assault rifles, shotguns, Gatling guns, sniper rifles, missile launchers, shields, and so on, and you can produce more powerful parts through “Development.” Armament Parts are stored inside the T-C-S, which will change form to match the method of attack.
In addition to the “Armament Parts” attached to the T-C-S, there are also “Strengthening Parts.” These parts can be created through “Development.”
During your mission to repel the Chimera threat, you’ll obtain various items, including materials that can be used for developing parts. By gathering the necessary materials, you can develop even stronger parts to strengthen your T-C-S.
By switching out “Armament Parts,” you can combine shooting attacks, missile attacks, melee attacks, and such—or let out attacks with the characteristics possessed by each Armament Part. Additionally, by switching out “Armament Parts, you can increase your attack power, enhance the characteristics of Armament Parts, and trigger various other effects. Use this system to find the most effective means of battle to combat the Chimera threat that possess a variety of characteristics.
T-C-S has a mode called “Overdrive,” which you can use to activate the weapon’s full-power mode. In order for the user to be able to withstand its power, an overdose of fortifier is applied and their body is enhanced. However, as compensation for obtaining this tremendous power, since it puts several times the amount of load on the body than usual, the use of Overdrive is limited.
Black Rose Valkyrie is due out for PlayStation 4 in Japan on June 30.
