Dragon Quest X 3DS shipments suspended in Japan
3DS MMORPG sold out, facing high load on cloud servers.Square Enix is suspending shipments for the 3DS version of Dragon Quest X Online in Japan less than a week after its September 4 launch, the company announced.
The 3DS MMORPG, which sold out, is facing high load on its cloud servers, through which the game is streamed, making it difficult for players to log in. Given that the Wii, Wii U, and PC versions don’t run on the cloud as the 3DS version does, these problems are exclusive to the handheld.
In order to give priority to the players who have already purchased the game, Square Enix has decided to put a pause on shipments. Players who already registered to play online will be given additional free playing time at a later date.
Shipments will resume in small numbers on September 11, as Square Enix feels it has a grasp of the current situation. But otherwise, the company projects that the game will remain difficult to find.
