Nintendo has released high-resolution screenshots and first English details about Hyrule Warriors, its upcoming Dynasty Warriors-style Legend of Zela developed in cooperation with Tecmo Koei’s Omega Force and Team Ninja studios.
Players will control Link, Impa, and “many other surprising playable characters”—each with their own signature weapons and action animations—as they face against the evil sorceress Cia, and her army, to rescue the captive Princess Zelda.
The first stage is set in Hyrule Field, a location that should be familiar to fans of the Zelda series. Each stage’s gameplay structure will bear close resemblence to the Dynasty Warriors games. Players will be tasked with reclaiming areas by defeating hordes of enemies. And while new enemies like Cia appear, old enemies like Bokoblins and Lizalfos will also return.
