Freedom Wars details and screenshots: City-State War mode, Elfriede and Carolus, first-run bonuses
Plus, a look at the game's voice customization. Our latest update on Freedom Wars introduce new characters Elfriede “Sakamoto” Cabrera and Carolus “Theodosius” Jinnah, City-State War Mode, and the game’s first-print purchase bonuses.
Consumers who pick up the game early will receive a “Formal Wear” costume, the large sword “AAW-M2” and rocket launcher “TB-32/H” weapons, a limited decal set, and a battle item pack including a large set of recovery items.
Elfriede and Carolus were both previously detailed. Elfriede is a battle maiden and champion of the “Royal Round” illegal underground arena. And Carolus is a Nog Panopticon Criminal who stands as Uwe Cabrera’s rival.
In City-Star War Mode, players will start from one of the 47 prefectures off Japan, choosing one Panopticon at the start. Panopticons can demand restricted resources in every region, and invade Panopticons of other regions. Players will battle against fellow convicts which, different from fighting giant Abductors, are smaller and move faster. Players will need to decide whether using long distance weapons or short range weapons are more beneficial to each situation.
As a result of battle, players will be awarded resources, which can be used to power up your Panopticon. Strong Panopticons will control weaker ones, and the weaker ones can become affiliated with stronger ones by contracting with the survivors. Alliances and takeovers are by no means uncommon.
You will be able to see the difference in every Panopticon development status through a City State ranking. Your Panopticon ranking will be proof of your commitment.
Freedom Wars will launch for PS Vita in Japan on June 26. At launch, the game will include Story, Free Volunteer, ad-hoc four-player co-op, and City-Star War modes. The first update after launch will add new Volunteer Missions, infrastructure online play, eight-player support, and player-versus-player mode. The second update will add an Ideology War mode.
