Farewell Umihara Kawase coming west in early 2014

3DS puzzle platformer branded Yumi's Odd Odyssey in the west.

Harvest Moon publisher Natsume is bringing Farewell Umihara Kawase to North America via the 3DS eShop as Yumi’s Odd Odyssey in early 2014, the company announced.

The puzzle platformer stars Yumi, a young girl and sushi chef armed with a backpack an fishing hook, who departs on a journey in a dream-like world filled with fish and other wildlife.

Yumi will run, jump, and use her fishing hook to progress through a variety of levels. Her fishing line can hook onto most surfaces when thrown. When it’s firmly hooked, Yumi can use the traction to swing between platforms, lower herself down to other ledges, or catapult long distances by stretching the line to its breaking point.

“We have been interested in releasing this unique title for awhile now,” said Natsume president and CEO Hiro Maekawa. “We are working very closely with Agatsuma Entertainment to bring this game to our fans, who we know appreciate games that are a little different, and also have lovable characters.”
