Zelda: A Link to the Past sequel announced for 3DS

New game to reinvigorate 2D world with new sense of height.

Nintendo is readying a new The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past game for 3DS.

While still-to-be-titled overseas, the Japanese version is called The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2. The game aims to reinvigorate A Link to the Past‘s 2D world with a new sense of height and volume. Link can now utilize different heights in dungeons to solve puzzles, and turn into a drawing to change the viewpoint and move within the walls.

The game features a brand new story and is set in A Link to the Past‘s world, but is not a remake.

The new Zelda will be available this holiday on 3DS. A free 3D video of the title will be available on the 3DS eShop today.
